REMIX T taman

REMIX T

Remix T – Taman (garden or park) is based on a European-Javanese batik cloth from the so-called buketan tradition, in which roses, peonies and other non-native flowers unfold in a repeating pattern. These hybrid floral motifs — born from colonial exchange — evoke a visual garden (taman) where East and West converge.

In this reinterpretation, a path of green circles emerges at the center of the cloth, while colored circles appear along the edges. The result is a structure reminiscent of a park: a central axis surrounded by flowers and bushes.

Remix T – Taman explores how repetition and order enter into dialogue with abstraction, and how history continues to generate new compositions.
